Solitude Mk3 Headphones (with LINX technology) £159.95 including VAT (£136.12 ex vat)
The award-winning Solitude® active noise cancellation headset is now available with Linx Audio™! This acclaimed headset still has all the features seen on the standard Solitude®, but with all the benefits of Linx Audio™.
Linx Audio™ increases perceived loudness, delivering improved hearing capacity for listeners with mild to severe hearing loss, while also encouraging hearing preservation for all listeners with or without hearing loss.
How It Works
Most products for hearing loss are simple volume related technologies. If it's difficult to hear, you are instructed to "Turn it up.” But Linx Audio™ is different. Linx Audio™ alters the audio signal carrying a more efficient sound to the inner ear, enhancing sound quality, improving speech intelligibility and increasing perceived loudness, without increasing the volume control of the audio device. At identical volume levels, products with LINX will sound richer, louder and more clear.
An example of what a listener might experience can be demonstrated by difference you hear when playing a “C” note on the piano as opposed to a “C Chord”. LINX AUDIO would represent the fuller, richer sound of the “C Chord”.
Enhanced Headset Design! The Sound of Silence™ The Solitude® is the most powerful active noise cancelling headset on the market. With 18 decibels of ANC and over 20 decibels of noise cancellation across the entire sound spectrum, it will outperform even its more expensive competitors. High-fidelity audio reproduction will allow you an enjoyable listening experience, whether you are in-flight, at work, or at home. Several features have been included to make the Solitude® an unbeatable value.
Features:
• 18 decibels of noise cancellation, highest of any ANR headset on the market
• Canted headband for superior comfort
• Full-size swivel earcup for ideal fit
• 40 mm drivers delivering superior audio fidelity

The effects of nonlinear distortion due to peak-clipping on speech intelligibility were studied, and it was concluded that reducing peak-clipping distortion improves speech intelligibility. Linx Audio™ technology performs a soft limiting function by the dual actions of its filtering and smoothed symmetric compression of high signal peaks rather than the symmetric hard limiting, thus reducing distortion due to peak clipping.
Sound quality and speech intelligibility are impacted by high frequency sounds. Speech sounds occur between the frequency range of 250 Hz and 6000 Hz. Consonants, vowels and consonant-vowel combinations reside at varying positions within this range. Music sounds have a much broader range from 20Hz to 20,000Hz. An individual's ability to hear sounds at all frequencies is affected by a wide range of hearing impairments, as well as, age related hearing loss that affects 40-50% of the worldwide population. For example, hearing loss associated with age usually begins in the higher frequencies, or the "High Tones." If you lose the ability to clearly hear these tones, high-pitched sounds like "f", "s" and "th" will be difficult to discriminate, and music may not sound as lively. Linx Audio™ increases speech intelligibility, bringing music back to life for the listener.
